Vigillo and Magellan recently launched new trucking products that aim to improve trucking safety, compliance and navigational efforts, as well as boost fleet management efforts.

Vigillo's new web-based application works to help carriers prepare for on-site audits from law enforcement officials or officers of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. The company's intervention collects fleet safety information and presents it in a scorecard format. The scorecard can then be used to boost fleet management's compliance, safety and accountability ratings, Transport Topics reported.

In addition, Magellan launched new in-cab navigation devices for truckers. The RoadMate Commercial 9270T-LM offers a 7-inch GPS display and can create customized routes, enable hands-free communication and document miles driven, Transport Topics reported.

Further, PeopleNet recently add a Google Earth feature to its fleet management tool. The company's tool uses Google Earth images of onboard event recordings to give drivers a ground level view of map information to increase route safety, Trucking Info reported.
