Trucking company falls short in paperwork and required driver insurance

Created: Tuesday, January 3rd, 2012 04:01 pm

Due to trucking employees being in such high demand, some businesses have to close their doors from a lack of staffing. This may seem bleak, but instead, it can be encouraging to truckers who are out looking for work, as it means that there is plenty of job available to those who wish to pursue this career.

According to the Insurance Journal, there are other reasons some fleet management owners need to delay or suspend their company. For instance, a trucking company based in Vermont recent had to stop doing business because its paperwork was not kept properly.

Starrs United, a company owned by Senator Bobby Starr and his son, has run into trouble because of their lack of workers' compensation insurance, reports The Republic.

Those in charge of their own trucking companies should be wary of the rules and regulations set by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, such as the requirement of CDL training for all commercial drivers and other truck driving safety laws. This will keep jobs safe and businesses secure, especially during uncertain economic times.
