New dock system boosts efficiency

A new dock management system from Carrier Logistics has new features to enhance fleet management efforts. The updated system offers reweight integration, misload prevention, dimension capture, piece-level tracking and paperwork automation.
Trucking Info reported the DMS offers real-time functionality with revenue capture to help get shipments out on trucks faster and more efficiently. The system enables dockworkers to load or unload trailers simultaneously, keep track of shipments and monitor who is handling items from a centralized hub.
"DMS is not just dock scanning," said Ben Wiesen, CLI vice president of product and services. "It is really the next generation of a dock system, providing complete dock productivity measurement and management down to assigning tasks to individual dock employees."
Miner Fleet Management Group is also creating its own marketshare in the dock industry, merging with Auto Doors, a national provider of automatic doors and dock equipment. The merger will enable Miner to expand its consumer base throughout the United States, while bringing depth and improved network efficiencies to ADI's services.
